#53. The General Roy Pub, Pheltham. 14.12.11.

Phantoms back at the General Roy!

By popular demand the Phantoms were once again back entertaining the Christmas crowd at Feltham's phinest pub, becoming only the second band to ever play there (apparently the first band were quite good too)! After managing to successfully set up the truck loads of equipment whilst simultaneously enduring the extremely drunken pesterings of the ladies(!?) from the local branch of Tesco’s on their xmas meal, the Phants & crew then all settled down to enjoy a lovely pre gig feed of the General Roy’s finest ‘sizzling specials’. With the boys then fed and watered (or shandied!) it was time to get the fun underway & the Phantoms got down to business entertaining the busy Wednesday crowd sounding good from the off, despite our drummer being extremely distracted by his cracking view of the Fulham match on TV during the whole of the first set! Shame about the result! Incidentally, this time round the younger Phans were all well aware of the Roy’s over 21’s policy but that didn’t deter a few of the hard core faithful from attempting to tunnel in! Unfortunately for them, all entry plans were scuppered! Better luck next year! Christmas classics & Santa hats had previously been guaranteed and before we knew it, the band were all too soon delivering the Christmas climax to the good people of Feltham. I say ‘good people’. I’m obviously excluding the scumbag who keyed the Phantoms drummers’ car before the gig! Happy Christmas to you too mate! Anyhoo, there’s strong rumours of the band coming back on a Saturday night in Feb 2012 (date tbc) so hope to see you then!

The Phantoms were: Mark Gibson (lead vocals & keys), Kevin Rogers (guitar), Jason Biggs (guitar & vocals), Jon Novice (bass & vocals) & Alun Westoll (drums & vocals).
