#85. FeltSHOCK, The General Roy, Feltham. 3.11.17.

The Phantoms – a graveyard smash at FeltSHOCK17.
A fantastic crowd packed the General Roy to the rafters to see the FeltSHOCK Halloween music festival at it’s great new home, and local bands The Phantoms & Chopper Squad both lived up to the hype.
After a slightly delayed start, first to thrill the crowd were the Phantoms who over the next hour and a half delivered a set crammed full of the usual spooky seasonal favourites, and killer songs (both tongue in cheek cheesy covers & sure fire classics delivered with equal aplomb).
Well aware that the General Roy would be throwing out half our youthful following at 9PM when the ‘over 21s only’ policy kicked in, the band romped through the early Halloween themed part of the set and at least managed to reach the kids fav (Titanium by David Guetta) before the axe fell on the unfortunate Feltham millennials.
Next up, the band gave a debut airing to the most complicated song ever attempted to date, ELO’s ‘Mr Blue Sky’, promptly followed by another brand new cover, ‘Firestarter’ by The Prodigy (possibly the easiest song we have ever tried)! Both well received by the appreciative punters.
From then on in it was well tested sure fire crowd pleasers till the end, with the audience singing, dancing & arm wrestling (what was that all about?!) along. It was then down to Chopper Squad to close the evening as the Phantoms hit the bar.
Another great evening of live music at the General Roy. Hope you can join the Phantoms again back at the Roy in only 4 weeks time for the Phantoms Christmas special on Fri 1st Dec. Out with the spooky covers & in with the full on cheesy xmas classics. Plenty of (Ph)estive shenanigans promised. Ho ho ho. x

The Phantoms were: Mark Gibson (lead vocals & keys), Kevin Rogers (guitar), Jason Biggs (guitar & vocals), Jon Novice (bass & vocals) & Alun Westoll (drums & vocals).
