#94. Surrey Young Carers Family Fun Day, Dorking. 22.9.18.

It was great news when the band were initially approached to entertain at the Surrey Young Carers Family Fun Day. Not so great when we realised that our lead singer was on his hols! But fear not, the show must go on & huge thanks to good mate & keyboard wizard Sam for stepping in at short notice to boost the numbers.
On the day the Phantoms shone, even if the sun didn’t, providing a welcome ray of sunshine to the hundreds in attendance who braved the weather to help celebrate such a worthy organisation. It really was a great afternoon, despite the best efforts of the late British Summertime weather. Well, at least for those lucky enough to be inside.
Thanks to the attentive audience who sang along throughout the gig, thanks to the unplanned stars of the show, little brothers Lenny & Ollie who both joined the band on numerous occasions adding much needed swagger (& very enthusiastic tambourine playing) to the new look line-up & especially thanks to Action for Carers for allowing us to be a part of your special day.
Action for Carers actually seems hugely appropriate for the Phantoms as some of the band really look like they could do with a carer!

The Phantoms were: Kevin Rogers (guitar), Jason Biggs (guitar & vocals), Jon Novice (bass), Alun Westoll (drums & vocals) plus special guest Sam Wansborough (keys).
